Aneet Padda may be the latest addition to Ayan Mukerji’s ambitious Brahmastra franchise, reports NDTV.
The actress has reportedly been approached for a key role in Brahmastra 2 and could share screen space with Ranbir Kapoor in the much-awaited sequel.
According to a report by Filmfare, discussions are currently underway, although nothing has been finalised yet.
The details of Aneet’s potential character are being kept under wraps.
A source told the publication, “Aneet has been approached for an important role in Brahmastra 2. The conversations are currently underway, but nothing has been finalised yet. It is a very different space from what audiences have seen her do so far, which makes the possibility of her joining the franchise interesting.”
The development comes as fans continue to await updates on the sequel to Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, which released in 2022.
The first film starred Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, with Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Nagarjuna and Mouni Roy also featuring in the fantasy adventure.
The casting of Brahmastra 2 has been a subject of speculation, particularly after the first film’s post-credit scene featured a blurred glimpse of Deepika Padukone holding a child. The scene fuelled theories about her possible role in the sequel.
Deepika was earlier expected to be part of Brahmastra 2. However, her team has since denied that she is involved in the project.
Meanwhile, Aneet Padda has been building momentum in Bollywood.
She rose to wider prominence with Saiyaara, which was directed by Mohit Suri and featured Ahaan Panday as the male lead.
The actress is also set to appear in Shakti Shalini, an upcoming film from Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe.
If the latest report materialises, Brahmastra 2 could mark another major step in Aneet’s rapidly growing career, while adding a new face to one of Bollywood’s most ambitious fantasy franchises.
