Bowlers ruled the fourth round of the Dhaka Premier League as four players claimed five wicket hauls on a dramatic day. Aliss Al Islam was the biggest star with a hat-trick for Prime Bank Cricket Club. Mahfijul Islam Robin also shone with a superb century for Agrani Bank Cricket Club.
Mohammedan Sporting Club produced a crushing 10 wicket win over Bashundhara Strikers at BKSP Ground No. 2. Mrittunjoy Chowdhury led the attack with 6 wickets for 22 runs in 7.5 overs as Bashundhara were bowled out for just 80. Mohammedan chased the small target in only 8.1 overs. Enamul Haque Bijoy blasted an unbeaten 50 from 28 balls, while Naim Sheikh scored 31.
Abahani Limited earned their second win of the season with an 8 wicket victory over Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club at BKSP Ground No. 4. Mahfuzur Rabbi starred with the ball and took 5 wickets to bowl Rupganj out for 147. Soumya Sarkar then guided the chase with 65 runs.
Prime Bank Cricket Club dominated Gazi Group Cricketers by 198 runs at the ULAB Cricket Ground. Azizul Hakim scored 78, Shahadat Hossain Dipu made 71 and Shamim Hossain added 51 as Prime Bank posted 303. Gazi Group had no answer against Aliss Al Islam, who took 6 wickets for 21 runs and completed a hat trick as they were dismissed for just over 105.
Dhaka Leopards beat Gulshan Cricket Club by 6 wickets at BKSP Ground No. 3. Saikat Ali played a fine innings of 88 as Dhaka Leopards chased down 179 with ease.
Rain interrupted the other two matches of the day. Agrani Bank beat Legends of Rupganj by 77 runs through the DLS method after Mahfijul Islam Robin’s brilliant 127 helped his team score 293.
Brothers Union also won by DLS after beating City Club by 26 runs. Golam Kibria was the star with the ball as he picked up 5 wickets for 31 runs.
