Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC organised a discussion meeting with Hajj agency representatives in Dhaka to strengthen coordination between the bank and agencies and ensure convenient, secure and timely banking services for Hajj pilgrims.
The “Discussion Meeting on Hajj Management” was held at a hotel in Dhaka on 22 July 2026. Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Munshi Alauddin Al Azad, NDC, attended the event as chief guest, while Hajj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) President Syed Golam Sarwar was present as special guest. The programme was presided over by Al-Arafah Islami Bank Managing Director Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan.
Al-Arafah Islami Bank said in a press release that the meeting aimed to improve Hajj-related banking services through stronger cooperation among the government, banks and Hajj agencies.
Among those present were the bank’s Deputy Managing Directors Md Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, S M Abu Jafar and Syed Abul Hashem, FCA, FCMA, along with senior executives, branch managers and representatives of Hajj agencies from across the country.
Munshi Alauddin Al Azad said close coordination among the government, banks and Hajj agencies is essential to provide convenient, secure and uninterrupted services for Hajj pilgrims. He appreciated Al-Arafah Islami Bank’s initiative to make Hajj management more efficient, transparent and customer-friendly through technology-based banking services.
Mohd Rafat Ullah Khan said providing reliable and timely banking services for Hajj pilgrims is one of the bank’s top priorities. He said the bank has integrated technology, operational excellence and customer-focused services into its Hajj banking solutions to meet changing customer needs.
He also reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to providing comprehensive support throughout the Hajj journey and continuously improving service standards to gain the trust and satisfaction of pilgrims.
The meeting included discussions on improving banking services for Hajj pilgrims. Participants highlighted the need to strengthen collaboration among stakeholders involved in Hajj management, expand technology-enabled banking solutions and ensure faster, more efficient and seamless services.
