The first song from Mohini – Khud Se Pyaar, an AI-created Indian musical microdrama, has been released. Titled Angaat Aalay Ka, the track has been unveiled by Equinox Virtual, the production company founded by producer and storyteller Amita Madhvani.
According to NDTV, the song draws inspiration from the folk traditions of Maharashtra and marks a key moment in the story, as the lead character Mohini reconnects with her lifelong passion for dance. The production was created entirely using artificial intelligence tools. Madhvani co-wrote the multilingual lyrics with fellow creators and composed the music through the AI music-generation platform Suno.
The story follows Mohini, a talented Kathak dancer whose life changes after the death of her father, her strongest supporter. Years later, while living in Mumbai and choosing to remain in the background, she gradually finds her way back to the stage. Through dance, grief and memory, she begins to rediscover her artistic identity.
Angaat Aalay Ka serves as the emotional and musical gateway to that journey. The song captures the moment Mohini rediscovers the joy, freedom and passion of performing while reflecting the quieter emotions beneath the surface.
Amita Madhvani, co-founder and chief executive officer of Equinox Virtual, described herself as a “generative creator”. She said every generation discovers new tools for creative expression, but the purpose remains the same—to evoke emotion. She added that Mohini explores what happens when life forces someone to abandon the thing they love most, and what it feels like to return to it. She said Angaat Aalay Ka reflects that first spark of joy and passion, adding that while AI offered new creative tools, emotion remained the true storyteller.
The makers have released the project on Instagram and YouTube, where the AI-powered musical microdrama is available for viewers.
The project reflects Equinox Virtual’s focus on short-form musical dramas driven by emotion, music and dance. The company, co-founded by Ram Madhvani and Amita Madhvani, also plans to expand the world of Mohini beyond digital platforms into live musical experiences.
