During the hearing, the plaintiff’s lawyer, Ishrat Hasan, sought the highest punishment for the accused, while defence lawyer Azizur Rahman Dulu rejected the allegations and pleaded for their acquittal. Both Nasir and Tamima were present in court during the proceedings.

The court completed recording the depositions of 10 witnesses on April 16. Earlier, on 9 February, 2022, the court framed charges against Nasir and Tamima, while Tamima’s mother, Sumi Akter, was discharged from the case as the court did not find any allegation against her.
