BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has accused the administration of placing loyal members of a certain religion-based party in key government positions.
Rizvi made the remarks on Saturday morning after paying homage to the Ziaur Rahman by placing wreath at his grave along with members of the newly formed Engineers Association of Bangladesh (EAB) committee.
He stated that attempts are being made to create confusion among the public by raising new issues and spreading false statistics. “The people know who has fought uncompromisingly for the past 15 years,” Rizvi said.
He added that free and fair elections are not possible under an administration loyal to a political party. “The public is ready for the elections in February; they do not want a dummy election as before,” he emphasised.
During Saturday event, Rizvi also criticised attempts to distort the image of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus at an Indian Puja Mandap.
