The brothers of Abu Sayed, who was killed during the July 2024 uprising, have demanded death penalty for the accused in the crimes against humanity case.
Ramzan Ali and Abu Hossain expressed their expectations while speaking to journalists in front of the International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday morning.
Abu Sayed, a student of the English Department at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, was killed on 16 July 2024, in front of the university gates.
Abu Hossain said, “Today the verdict in this case will be delivered. We want the killers of my brother to get the capital punishment. And those who are still absconding should be arrested quickly, so the verdict can be implemented by the government.”
His elder brother Ramzan Ali said, “So far we are satisfied with the trial process. Let’s see what the verdict says. Our family’s demand is that my brother’s killers get the maximum punishment—death.”
