The International Crimes Tribunal-2 will deliver its verdict on 9 April in the crimes against humanity case over killing of Abu Sayed, the first martyr of the July uprising.
The case has been pending judgment since 27 January.
On 16 July 2024, Abu Sayed, an English department student at Begum Rokeya University in Rangpur, was shot dead by police during the mass uprising.
Thirty people were charged in connection with the incident, including former vice-chancellor Hasibur Rashid. Six accused are currently in custody, among them former proctor Shariful Islam, while 24 remain at large.
Those in jail include Shariful Islam, former assistant Registrar Rafiqul Hasan, former contractual employee Anwar Parvez, former sub-inspector Amir Hossain, former constable Sujon Chandra Roy, and Imran Chowdhury, a leader of banned organisation BCL.
