Aamir Khan, his former wife Kiran Rao and their son Azad Rao Khan were spotted outside a pet clinic in Mumbai on Saturday, with the family appearing visibly distressed, reports India Times.
Azad was seen crying as they left the clinic, while Aamir was carrying a cat carrier.
The sighting quickly sparked concern among fans and social media users, who began speculating about the condition of the family’s pet.
Some wondered whether the cat was seriously unwell, while others speculated that the family may have lost their pet.
However, neither Aamir nor Kiran has confirmed what happened to the animal or whether it is suffering from any health issue. The speculation remains unverified.
The emotional sighting also drew a response from Aamir’s nephew, actor Imran Khan.
Reacting to a video of the family leaving the clinic, Imran criticised its circulation, calling it an unkind decision given Azad’s apparent distress.
“While I acknowledge that my uncle is a public figure, this is also clearly a difficult personal moment for a young lad,” Imran said, arguing that Azad did not deserve to have such a vulnerable moment shared publicly.
Aamir and Kiran announced their separation in 2021 after 15 years of marriage and have continued to co-parent Azad.
Meanwhile, Aamir’s production venture Batwara 1947, starring Sunny Deol, was released in theatres on Friday. The actor has not officially announced his next acting project.
