Bangladesh Television is set to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr with a vibrant edition of its long-running magazine programme, ‘Ananda Mela’, airing at 10:00 pm on Eid day. This year, the show aims to blend nostalgia, star power and festive cheer to create a truly memorable viewing experience.
The highlight of the programme is expected to be the dance performances. Popular performers including Puja Chery, Mehazabien Chowdhury, Richi Solaiman, Chandni and Anika Kabir Shokh will take to the stage with specially choreographed routines spanning popular film numbers and folk hits from the 1980s to the present. The choreography has been curated by the renowned Sohan Dance Group.
Musical performances will also feature prominently, with beloved singers Kanakchapa, Monir Khan, Robi Chowdhury, Nancy, Nasir and Chirkutt taking centre stage. Fans can look forward to the much-anticipated duet ‘Premer Taj Mahal’ by Monir Khan and Kanakchapa, marking a rare collaboration in recent years.
Beyond music and dance, the programme will showcase acrobatic performances from artists of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, while comedian Abu Hena Roni brings his brand of humour to the festivities.
Instrumental pieces, special jingles and mini-dramas are also part of the line-up, promising variety and entertainment for audiences of all ages.
Hosting duties are shared between Masuma Rahman Nabila, a familiar face on the show and Irfan Sajjad, making his debut as an Ananda Mela host.
Nabila expressed her excitement, noting that the show always aims to offer something special for viewers during Eid. Sajjad, meanwhile, highlighted the significance of the programme as it celebrates its 50th year, describing the opportunity to host alongside Nabila as a “thrilling experience”.
Produced by Afroza Sultana, Hasan Riyad and Yasmin Akhter, this year’s Ananda Mela promises to be a lively celebration of music, dance, comedy and festive entertainment, designed to capture the spirit of Eid and delight audiences across the country.
