Former Bangladesh national cricket team captain Tamim Iqbal has said that Bogura has the best batting wicket in the country. Speaking at the final of the ‘BFA Football Tournament’ held at the Erulia Haikhola Balur Maath in Bogura Sadar, he expressed hope that international cricket would return to the venue in the near future. Tamim added that if a cricket academy were established in Bogura, it could produce players like Mushfiqur Rahim and Towhid Hridoy for the national team.

The final match, organised by the Bogura Football Academy, drew huge excitement among local supporters, with thousands of spectators filling the ground. In the championship match, Bidyut Boyez Club faced Torun Jubok Songho. The only goal scored in the first half decided the result, with Bidyut Boyez Club winning the title 1–0.

After the match, Tamim Iqbal presented the trophy and prize money to the champions as the chief guest of the event. The tournament had earlier been inaugurated by the academy’s chief patron and convener of ‘Amra BNP Poribar’, Atikur Rahman Ruman.

Special guests at the event included Israfil Khasru, a member of the BNP’s International Affairs Sub-Committee, Kalam Azad, General Secretary of the Bogura Press Club, and Syed Aminul Haque Dewan Sajal, Member Secretary of the Bangladesh District and Divisional Sports Organisers Association. The final was chaired by Bogura Football Academy President Md Shahidul Islam Shahid.
