Defending champions Bangladesh Ansar will take on Bangladesh Police Women’s Team in the highly anticipated final of the 6th National Women’s Baseball Championship 2025, scheduled for Saturday (1 November) at the Riya Gope Women’s Sports Complex in Dhanmondi.

Friday’s action-packed second day saw both the quarter-final and semi-final rounds unfold, producing dominant performances from the country’s two most successful women’s baseball sides.

In the opening quarter-final, Bangladesh Ansar overwhelmed Savar Community Club with a commanding 20–0 victory, securing a smooth path to the semi-final. Joypurhat Baseball Club followed suit, thrashing Chattogram Baseball Club 15–0 to book their place in the next round.

The semi-finals mirrored the same one-sided dominance. Bangladesh Ansar cruised past Joypurhat Baseball Club 15–0, while Bangladesh Police Women’s Team demolished Dhaka District Baseball Team by the same margin. Catcher Nishat of Bangladesh Police was named Player of the Match for her outstanding performance behind the plate.

Saturday’s schedule will feature the third-place play-off at 12:00 PM, where Joypurhat Baseball Club will face Dhaka District. The much-awaited final between Bangladesh Ansar and Bangladesh Police will take place at 3:00 PM, promising a thrilling battle between two powerhouses, the five-time champions and last edition’s runners-up.

The semi-final day was attended by several dignitaries, including Prof. Sharif Uddin, Vice-Chancellor of Green University of Bangladesh, and Prof. Anwar Mahmud, Vice-President of Dhaka College. Also present were Afzalur Rahman, President of the Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association (BBSA), Dr Anupam Hossain, Senior Vice-President, Talha Yubaer, General Secretary, Imam Hossain Sohag, Joint Secretary, and Hiroki Watanabe, Head Coach of the Bangladesh National Team, along with other BBSA officials and invited guests.

The final match will be graced by Abdun Naser Khan, Secretary of the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, as the chief guest, while senior officials from the National Sports Council and various ministries are also expected to attend.

With both teams in top form and a title on the line, Saturday’s final is set to deliver a fitting climax to the 6th National Women’s Baseball Championship 2025.
