A meeting of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be held on Sunday, November 2, at 3 PM. It will take place at the BCB headquarters in Mirpur’s Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
This will be the second meeting of the newly elected committee. The main focus will be on the upcoming BPL season and the match-fixing issues from the last edition.
The BCB board has 24 directors, including one nominated by the National Sports Council. The new committee has already held its first meeting earlier this month.
In Sunday’s meeting, the board may make a final decision on when and how the next BPL will start. The announcement of the new Test captain is also expected. Bangladesh last played a Test in Sri Lanka in June. Soon after the series, Najmul Hossain Shanto stepped down as Test captain. Since then, no one has been appointed for the role.
The board will also review the report on the match-fixing scandal from the previous BPL, which damaged the league’s image. The final report is ready and will be discussed in detail.
Alongside that, the board will assess the performances of both the men’s and women’s national teams. Discussions about the coaching staff of the national team are also likely to take place.
