The 21st National Long-Distance Swimming Competition 2025, organised by the Bangladesh Swimming Federation and sponsored by the Bangladesh Navy, will be held on Saturday, 1 November 2025, on the Dhaleshwari River in Munshiganj.
A total of 35 swimmers from across the country will participate, including 23 men and 12 women, representing the armed forces, various swimming clubs, and district associations.
The men’s race, covering approximately 10 kilometres, will start at 9:00 am from Boktaboli Bazar on the Shitalakshya River in Narayanganj and finish at the Munshiganj Launch Terminal on the Dhaleshwari River. The women’s race, spanning around 7 kilometres, will begin at Sipahi Para on the Shitalakshya River and also end at the Munshiganj Launch Terminal.
The award and closing ceremony will be held at 11:30 am at the Munshiganj Launch Terminal premises, where Admiral M Nazmul Hassan, Chief of Naval Staff and President of the Bangladesh Swimming Federation, will attend as the chief guest and present prizes to the winners.
Prizes will be awarded to the top five swimmers in both men’s and women’s categories. The champions will receive Tk 20,000, the runners-up Tk 15,000, and the third-place finishers Tk 10,000. The fourth and fifth positions will earn Tk 7,000 and Tk 5,000, respectively. All swimmers who successfully complete the race will receive a Tk 3,000 participation reward, along with crests and certificates.
