A daring robbery at Shampa Jewellers in Malibagh resulted in the theft of 500 bhori gold, sending shockwaves through Fortune Shopping Mall.
The robbery occurred early hours of Thursday at around 3 am, when two members of a criminal gang, disguised in burqas, broke into the jewellery store.
CCTV footage captured the suspects cutting the lock of the store’s shutter before making off with a significant quantity of gold.
The store owner reported that approximately 400 bhori gold jewellery and 100 bhori pawned gold were taken. Additionally, around Tk 40,000 in cash was also stolen. The entire stolen goods have yet to be recovered.
Police have launched an investigation into the robbery and are reviewing security footage to track down the suspects.
