Islamic Foundation Director General Abdus Salam Khan has said the typhoid vaccine is entirely halal.
He made the remark while speaking as chief guest at a workshop with religious leaders held at the Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday afternoon.
The event was organised to strengthen advocacy and planning for the district’s typhoid vaccination campaign.
Salam said questions had been raised earlier about whether the typhoid vaccine was halal. “After thorough examination, it has been confirmed that there is no haram ingredient in it. Therefore, the vaccine is completely halal,” he said.
