Dhaka Metro turned in a forgettable performance in the NCL T20, scoring just 90 runs in 20 overs against Rangpur Division, who chased down the target comfortably in only 11 overs.

After losing the toss, Dhaka Metro were sent in to bat but failed to find any momentum. The opening stand was worth 24 runs before Sadman Islam Anik fell for 10 from 12 balls. His partner, Mahfijul Islam Robin, made 20 off 23 deliveries. The sluggish start continued throughout the innings, with no significant acceleration.

In the middle order, only Tahjibul Islam reached double figures, scoring 13 from 22 balls. The lower order added a few late runs, with Rakibul Hasan scoring 14 off 13 and Shahidul Islam contributing 11 from 8 deliveries. Despite having wickets in hand, Dhaka Metro could only post 90 for 8 in their allotted 20 overs.

Rangpur’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout. Zahid Javed bowled a superb spell, conceding only 8 runs in four overs and taking two wickets. Abu Hashim and Rafiuzzaman Rafi also took two wickets each, keeping Dhaka Metro’s batters in check.

Chasing 91, Rangpur lost wickets at regular intervals but maintained a steady scoring rate. Zahid Javed was once again key, top-scoring with 26 off 22 balls. Captain Akbar Ali struck 17 from 9 balls, Nasir Hossain added 11 from 7, and opener Abdullah Al Mamun chipped in with 16 off 8.

Rangpur reached 93 for 4 in just 11 overs, securing a comprehensive win. With contributions in both innings, Zahid Javed was named Player of the Match.
