Australia captain Mitchell Marsh produced a masterclass with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 103 to guide his side to victory in the third T20 against New Zealand and seal a 2-0 series triumph.
Chasing 157, Marsh anchored the innings with a powerful display, finding little support as wickets fell regularly at the other end. Mitchell Owen’s 14 was the next best score in the Australian innings.
Marsh faced just 52 balls for his 103, hitting eight fours and seven sixes in a dominant performance that proved decisive.
New Zealand had earlier posted 156 for 9, recovering from 77 for 4 thanks to late contributions from Michael Bracewell, who made 26, and Jimmy Neesham with 25. Opener Tim Seifert top-scored with 48 from 35 balls.
Australia’s bowlers were in fine form, with Sean Abbott leading the attack by taking 3 for 25. Josh Hazlewood and Xavier Bartlett each claimed two wickets.
Australia had already won the opening T20 by six wickets, while the second match was washed out due to rain.
