The Polar Ice Cream 29th School Handball Tournament, organised by the Bangladesh Handball Federation and sponsored by Dhaka Ice Cream Industries Limited, has reached its thrilling final stage. The finals in both boys’ and girls’ divisions will take place on Sunday, 5 October 2025, at the Shaheed Captain Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in Paltan, Dhaka.
In the boys’ division, Sunnydale School and Narinda Government High School have booked their places in the final after strong semi-final performances on Saturday. Sunnydale outplayed St Gregory’s School by 31–13 in the first semi-final, having led 15–7 at half-time. In the other semi-final, Narinda defeated Dhaka Government Muslim High School by 19–12 after holding an 11–7 lead at the break.
The girls’ division will also feature a star-studded final as Viqarunnisa Noon School and College take on Sunnydale School. Viqarunnisa cruised past Shaheed Bir Uttam Lt. Anwar Girls’ College with a commanding 17–2 victory, leading 9–0 in the first half. Meanwhile, Sunnydale delivered another dominant display, crushing Sher-e-Bangla Girls’ College by 29–1 after going 19–0 up at the interval.
Both finals promise exciting action and plenty of youthful enthusiasm. The matches will be played at the Shaheed Captain Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium, where the atmosphere is expected to be electric as the schools fight for the Polar Ice Cream School Handball 2025 crown.
This year’s tournament, held under the management of the Bangladesh Handball Federation, has once again highlighted the growing popularity of handball among school students. The event continues to play a crucial role in discovering young talents who could represent the country at higher levels in the future.
