Bangladesh Bank has allocated office space at Sena Kalyan Bhaban in the capital for the proposed state-owned Shariah-based bank, “United Islami Bank PLC/United Islami Bank of Bangladesh PLC.”
According to an office order issued on Tuesday by the central bank’s Common Services Department-1, a total of 2,306 square feet at Suite 1707 on the 17th floor of Sena Kalyan Bhaban has been designated as the registered office of the new bank.
Officials said the allocation has been approved by the governor for the bank, which is being formed through the merger of five Shariah-based banks. The decision was made based on a proposal submitted by the bank’s Resolution Department.
