A total of 507,228 people have accessed free legal advice through the National Legal Aid Services Organization (NLASO), according to a recent report.
The report, published on the NLASO website, provides an overview of the legal assistance offered between 2009 and August 2025.
It reveals that 438,474 cases, involving financially disadvantaged litigants, were supported under the government’s legal aid framework during this time.
Out of these, 26,388 individuals received free legal advice through the Supreme Court Legal Aid Office, while 268,521 others benefited from services available in legal aid offices across all 64 districts.
Additionally, the report highlighted the assistance provided to workers, with 21,747 labourers receiving support through dedicated legal aid cells in Dhaka and Chattogram.
These services are offered under the Legal Aid Services Act, which ensures that individuals facing financial hardship have access to justice.
The program is managed by the Law and Justice Division of the Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs.
