Mushfiqur Rahim is poised to become the first Bangladesh cricketer to reach the landmark of 100 Test appearances when his side face Ireland at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka from 19 November.
The veteran wicketkeeper-batter, currently on 98 Tests, will reach the milestone if he features in both matches of the upcoming series. The first Test takes place in Sylhet from 11 November after Cricket Ireland agreed to contest the full two-match series, having earlier shown interest in replacing the second Test with an ODI series.
Mushfiqur made his debut as an 18-year-old at Lord’s in 2005, becoming the second-youngest player to appear in a Test at the venue after Sachin Tendulkar. He remains Bangladesh’s only batter with more than 6,000 Test runs. His unbeaten 219 against Zimbabwe in 2020 also stands as the team’s highest individual score.
The Bangladesh–Ireland series will conclude with three T20 internationals, scheduled for 27 and 29 November in Chattogram and 2 December in Dhaka.
Bangladesh will host the West Indies for six white-ball games ahead of that, with three ODIs on 18, 20 and 23 October followed by three T20Is on 27 and 30 October and 1 November.
According to the ICC’s Future Tours Programme, December and January are free of international commitments for Bangladesh, paving the way for the Bangladesh Premier League to take place during that window before the T20 World Cup in February. The 2025–26 calendar also includes home series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
