The Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (CUCSU) and Hall Union elections have commenced, in which Islami Chhatri Sangstha has announced a full panel to contest in the hall unions.
The organisation has already collected nomination papers for Pritilata Hall and stated that it will field candidates in all hall unions as well as in the central union.
On Tuesday at noon, representatives of Islami Chhatri Sangstha submitted nomination forms for the Pritilata Hall Union at the Election Commission office.
According to the panel, fourth-year student Misbahul Jannat Tarin will contest for the Vice President (VP) post, third-year student Nadia Sultana for the General Secretary (GS) post, and Afrida Rima for the Assistant General Secretary (AGS) post.
Leaders of the organisation said that with CUCSU elections being held after a long gap, they have entered the race committed to addressing students’ demands and resolving overall issues in the halls.
They added, “We will formally announce the full panel within the next two days. So far, we have collected 14 nomination forms and hope students will support us.”
It is to be noted that today is the last day to collect nomination papers, while candidates can submit them until tomorrow. The CUCSU and Hall Union elections are scheduled for October 12.
