Bangladeshi filmmakers have been invited to submit entries for the International Feature Film category of the 98th Academy Awards. The call was announced by the Oscar Bangladesh Committee through a press release.
Application forms are available at the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies (BFFS) office in Planners Tower, Banglamotor, Dhaka. The deadline for submission is 5:00 pm on September 16.
To qualify, films must:
Be in Bengali with English subtitles.
Have been commercially screened for at least seven days in Bangladesh between October 1, 2024 and September 30, 2025.
Be directed by a Bangladeshi filmmaker.
Fulfill all technical and eligibility rules set by the Academy.
Applicants must submit a completed form along with proof of release, two DVD/Blu-ray copies or a secure digital link, a press kit, story summary and original credit list.
Abdullah Al Maruf, coordinator of the Oscar Bangladesh Committee, said a special selection committee under the BFFS will choose one film to represent Bangladesh.
“This is a huge opportunity for the country’s film industry,” he said. “It’s an important platform to showcase our creativity, diversity and artistic excellence to the world. I urge all eligible filmmakers to apply.”
