Chorki dominated the fourth edition of Blender’s Choice-The Daily Star OTT and Digital Content Awards, winning 17 out of 23 content-related categories in both Critics and Popular Choice.
The ceremony was held Sunday at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center.
FS Naeem won Best Actor (Critics) for the Chorki series ‘Kalpurush’, while the show’s team, including makeup artist Rubama Fairuz, editors Syed Mehboob Hussain and Saleh Sobhan Anim and art director Shihab Nurun Nabi, also received accolades.
Chorki’s series ‘Sinpat’, directed by Mohammad Tauqir Islam, won Best Series (Critics) and the film Kacher Manush Door Thuiya, directed by Shihab Shaheen, won Best Film (Popular Choice).
Sinpat received 12 nominations, winning awards for Best Director, Best Actress (Jinnat Ara) and Best Sound Designer (Adeep Singh Manki).
‘Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya’ earned four awards, including Best Singer (Mahtim Shakib & Nandita), Best Composer (Emon Chowdhury) and Best Lyricist (Sadat Hossain).
Other winners included Mosharraf Karim (Best Actor, Popular) for ‘Adhunik Bangla Hotel’, Zahid Nirob (Best Background Score), Kazi Asad (Best Screenplay, Critics), Jannat Maury (Best Costume Designer, ‘Ticket’) and Ishtiaq Hossain (Best Cinematographer, ‘Forget Me Not’).
Chorki CEO Redwan Rony praised the young talent behind Sinpat and Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya, highlighting their international-standard work.
Special honors were given to Shakib Khan for 25 years in cinema and ‘Utshob’, co-produced by Charkir, received a Special Mention.
The event featured performances by Parsa Ivana, Alifia Dance Squad, Mandira Chakraborty, Sabila Noor and Xefer, with hosts Naziba Basar, Irfan Sajjad, Rafsan Sabab and Afsan Ara Bindu.
