Sri Lanka sealed a 2-1 series victory after defeating Zimbabwe by seven wickets in the third and final T20I at Harare Sports Club. Chasing 192, the visitors reached their target in 17.4 overs, thanks to a sparkling knock from Kamil Mishara.
Opting to bat first, Zimbabwe made 191 for 8 in their 20 overs. Opener Tadiwanashe Marumani struck a fluent 44-ball 51, including six fours and a six, his fourth T20I half-century since debuting in 2021. He added key runs with Sean Williams (23) and Sikandar Raza (28), but all three fell to leg-spinner Dushan Hemantha in quick succession.
Late cameos from Ryan Burl (26), Tashinga Musekiwa (18), and Tony Munyonga (13*) lifted Zimbabwe to a competitive score.
Hemantha was the standout for Sri Lanka, dismissing Marumani, Williams, and Raza. The leg-spinner finished with figures of 3 for 38 from four overs in just his second T20I. He now has four wickets in the format, alongside 82
Sri Lanka’s chase began strongly with a 58-run opening stand between Pathum Nissanka (33) and Kusal Mendis (30), before both fell in quick succession to Brad Evans and Raza. From 76 for 2, Mishara and Kusal Perera took charge.
Mishara struck an unbeaten 73 off 43 balls, decorated with six fours and two sixes, while Perera smashed 46* from 26 deliveries. Their unbroken 116-run stand guided Sri Lanka home with 14 balls to spare.
The innings marked Mishara’s maiden T20I half-century in just his fifth appearance, taking his tally to 108 runs in the format at a strike rate of 131.70.
