Litton Das has been named the full-time captain of Bangladesh’s T20I team until the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup. The announcement follows his successful stint as stand-in captain during the West Indies tour, where Bangladesh completed a 3–0 series sweep.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) also unveiled a 16-member squad for the upcoming T20I series against the UAE and Pakistan, with Najmul Hossain Shanto and MD Tawhid Hridoy returning to the side. However, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Taskin Ahmed, Nasum Ahmed, and Ripon Mondol have been dropped.

Mahedi Hasan has been appointed vice-captain, replacing Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who misses out on selection. Litton, who is recovering from a finger injury, is expected to lead the team in the UAE series, which marks his official tenure as captain.

The squad will use the three-week gap between the Zimbabwe and Pakistan series for a preparatory series against the UAE, as they build towards the 2026 T20 World Cup.

Bangladesh squad for UAE and Pakistan T20I series:
