The 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is expected to take place in the December-January window, according to the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB). However, the schedule and teams are yet to be finalized.
On Monday, BCB Director Nazmul Abedin Fahim confirmed that the forthcoming BPL will be organized with the support of a sports management firm. At the SICS media center, Nazmul said that they will rely on IMG, a United States-based sports marketing consulting firm.
On a three-year deal, BCB has approved IMG to manage the BPL. Earlier, IMG had responded to the BCB’s call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) to organize the league.
“IMG has been approved as the sports marketing consulting firm for the BPL. IMG is one of the leading marketing firms, and for BCB and the BPL, we all know the current state of the BPL,” said Nazmul.
BCB is relying on IMG to restore the league’s standard. Nazmul further added, “This is one of the key steps being taken to restore the standard of the BPL. We know that IMG is one of the most reputed consultancy firms, and we are hopeful that IMG will play a very strong role in organizing the BPL.”
