Dr Amirul Islam, convener of Natore district unit of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), was found slaughtered in his hospital at Madrasa Crossing in the district town on Monday.
Police recovered the body of Dr Amirul, also president of the Natore Diagnostic Association, from the third floor of Jonseba Hospital around 2:30PM.
Police said employees of the hospital tried to contact Dr Amirul in the morning, but received no response. They broke open the door of his room and found his body.
They immediately informed police of the incident. Later, senior police officers visited the scene.
Superintendent of Police Amjad Hossain said Dr Amirul’s body bore sharp knife wounds, and one of his organs was removed.
