Health authorities confirmed 552 new dengue cases across the country in the last 24 hours, according to a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement issued today.
Of the new patients, 114 were admitted in Barishal division, 97 in Chattogram division, 107 in Dhaka division outside the capital, 59 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), and 94 in Dhaka
North City Corporation (DNCC). In addition, 44 cases were reported in Khulna division, 14 in Mymensingh, 21 in Rajshahi, and two in Sylhet division, DGHS said.
With these fresh cases, the country’s total dengue count this year has reached 32,028, while the death toll stands at 122 with no new deaths.
Last year, Bangladesh saw the deadliest dengue outbreak on record, with 575 deaths and 101,214 reported cases.
