Brothers Union’s persistent mismanagement has once again come under the spotlight after a clerical error ruled out Paraguayan forward Fernando Presentado from the opening phase of the upcoming Bangladesh Premier League season.
The 23-year-old, a former Paraguay U18 international, was set to be a key addition to the squad. However, despite his last club being based in Paraguay, Brothers Union mistakenly requested his international transfer clearance from the Uruguayan Football Association.
As a result, Presentado’s registration has been delayed, and he will now miss the initial phase of the league campaign.
This is far from the club’s first brush with administrative chaos. In 2021, they submitted their squad list after the official deadline but were still permitted to compete under special consideration. The 2023–24 season saw them relegated, only for Brothers Union to return to the top flight last season when two clubs withdrew from the competition.
