Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Thursday met Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin in Moscow.
According to a Kremlin statement, the meeting was attended by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov and Indian Ambassador to Moscow Vinay Kumar, reports Anadolu.
Earlier in the day, Jaishankar held talks with Lavrov, which took place as Washington threatened to impose an additional 25 percent tariff on Indian goods, including Russian oil imports.
Following the talks, Jaishankar and Lavrov said Putin may visit India before the end of the year.
This marks the second visit by a senior Indian official to Moscow in two weeks, after Russian President Putin hosted Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval last week.
