Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader has alleged that the incumbent government has “taken different attitudes towards members of the Hindu community” in the country.
“I condemn such attitudes from the government towards the Hindus in Bangladesh,” he said.
GM Quader made the remarks while exchanging greetings with members of the Hindu community at his party office at Kakrail in Dhaka on Thursday on the occasion of Janmashtami.
The Jatiya Party chief has expressed anger over the reports about oppression of Hindus in different places of the country.
“We’re witnessing houses of Hindus being vandalised and burned. In the past, they fell victim to injustice. Now, they don’t even expect that anymore,” he added.
“I’ve always desired a secular society where everyone enjoys equal rights, and no discrimination exists based on religion.”
Accusing the government of filing hundreds of harassing cases against common people, GM Quader said, “No action is being taken against those involved in massive corruption.”
