Crude bombs explode near two police boxes in Dhaka

Two crude bombs exploded near traffic police boxes in Farmgate and Khamarbari areas of Dhaka’s Tejgaon zone on Monday night.

The incidents occurred around 11:00pm. The crude bombs were wrapped in yellow tape, did not cause any injuries or damage, according to police.

Tejgaon Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mobarak Hossain said an unidentified person or group detonated a crude bomb near the traffic police box in front of Ananda Cinema Hall in Farmgate around 11:00pm. Police later visited the spot and collected evidence from the scene.

Another explosion took place in the Khejurbagan area in front of the traffic police box under Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, said the OC. Unidentified individuals threw the crude bomb on the road and fled. Although the bomb exploded, there was no damage or casualty. Police collected evidence from the scene after inspecting the area.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Md Ibn Mizan said police immediately rushed to both scenes following the explosions, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible.
