Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour has officially become the highest-grossing country music tour in history. Wrapping up on July 26 in Las Vegas with a surprise Destiny’s Child reunion, the 32-show run brought in a staggering $407.6 million and sold 1.6 million tickets, according to Billboard Boxscore.
The tour marks a historic achievement, becoming the first country tour to surpass the $400 million mark, as confirmed by Pollstar. Beyoncé also became the first American artist to have two tours gross over $400 million, the other being her 2023 Renaissance tour, which earned $579 million across 56 shows.
Notably, Cowboy Carter is the shortest tour to ever hit this financial milestone, with only 32 dates compared to longer tours like The Rolling Stones’ 58-show No Filter tour and Metallica’s ongoing 60-date M72 World Tour.
Rather than hitting numerous cities, Beyoncé chose to perform in just nine, staging mini-residencies in major hubs like Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta, London, and Las Vegas. This was a contrast to the globe-trotting Renaissance tour, which visited 39 cities across 17 countries.
The Cowboy Carter tour also featured memorable guest appearances. Jay-Z joined her in Atlanta for ‘Crazy in Love’ and two solo tracks, while Miley Cyrus surprised fans in Paris by performing their duet ‘II Most Wanted’ live for the first time.
Beyoncé’s performance at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium was met with rave reviews, with NME’s Nick Levine calling her “pretty much flawless,” praising her ability to sing from a mechanical bull and continually raise the bar for stadium shows.
However, not everything went smoothly — during the Atlanta stop, hard drives containing unreleased music were reportedly stolen from a rental car.
