Harry Kane has committed his future to Bayern Munich until 2029, signing a new contract that takes him beyond the final year of his previous deal and makes a return to the Premier League less likely.

The England captain and Ballon d’Or winner had entered the final 12 months of the four-year contract he signed after joining Bayern from Tottenham for £86 million in 2023.

Kane said he was happy with life in Munich and wanted to continue winning trophies with the German club.

“I feel right at home at FC Bayern. I love the club, the fans and the city of Munich,” he said.

“We have a fantastic team and, in Vincent Kompany, a fantastic manager. It makes me very proud to be part of this club.

“My whole family is very happy here. I was keen to stay. I’m now looking forward to the future and I want to win many more titles with this great club.”

The new deal will keep the 33-year-old at Bayern until shortly before his 36th birthday. It also means he is set to remain in Germany through Euro 2028 and until within a year of the 2030 World Cup.

Kane’s decision reduces the possibility of a return to England, where he remains 47 goals short of Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260. His extended stay also ends speculation about a potential move to Barcelona, who had maintained an interest in the striker, while clubs in Saudi Arabia were also linked with him.

Kane has been prolific since arriving in Germany. He scored a club-record 61 goals in 51 matches last season as Bayern completed a league and cup double.

Across club and international football, he registered 73 goals in 65 matches in 2025-26. He has also scored 102 goals in 102 Bundesliga appearances, collected three successive Golden Boot awards and won two league titles.

Bayern have now secured the services of one of Europe’s most productive forwards for another three years, with Kane looking to add to his trophy collection in Munich.
