Four people suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Naojor Bazar area of Gazipur on Wednesday night.
The explosion occurred around 9pm. The injured were taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for treatment, reports UNB.
Sultan Mahmud Sikder, resident surgeon (emergency) at the institute, said Ahad, 19, suffered burns to 55 per cent of his body and is in critical condition.
He said Abdullah, 18, suffered burns to 20 per cent of his body, Ahad, 19, to 55 per cent, Ashraful, 26, to 15 per cent, and Naim, 25, to 4 per cent.
Abdullah, Ahad and Ashraful have been admitted to the institute’s High Dependency Medical Unit, he added.
Ahad is in critical condition, while Naim has been kept under observation in the emergency department.
