Singer Imran Mahmudul has long been keen to introduce new faces through his music videos. He often spots promising models and actors in television dramas, hosting programmes and advertisements before casting them in his own videos. Continuing that tradition, presenter and actress Rubaiya Esha has been cast in the music video for his new song, ‘Sakhi Mon Bujhlana’.
Gunjun Chowdhury has written and composed the song, while Imran himself has arranged the music. Chandan Roy Chowdhury has directed the music video, which was recently filmed at scenic locations around Dhaka. Dancer Renesas also appears alongside Imran and Esha.
Speaking about the song and video, Imran said the team had been looking for a new face for ‘Sakhi Mon Bujhlana’ and had discussed the matter with the director for some time before finalising Esha. He noted that she works as a presenter and has also acted in several television dramas.
“Considering everything, we felt Esha was the right choice to model for my new music video. She has made a good effort to express herself through the song’s visuals,” Imran said.
He added that he hoped his fans and viewers would welcome Esha warmly. Praising the song’s lyrics and melody, Imran said he believed it would be one of the year’s most enjoyable songs, adding that listeners would be able to judge for themselves once it was released.
Esha is equally optimistic about the project. “I said a few days ago that some better work was coming up. I was specifically referring to this music video. I am sincerely grateful to the entire team. I am very hopeful about both the song and its music video,” she said.
Esha works as a presenter at ‘The Business Standard’ and has also begun making her mark as an actress. She drew viewers’ attention with her portrayal of Priti in Imraul Rafat’s drama ‘Priti Ami Ar Ashbo Na’. She later appeared in another drama by the same director, ‘Ojante’, and recently attracted attention for her role in Sokal Ahmed’s ‘Best Friend or Boyfriend’.
Despite acting in lead roles in only three dramas so far, Esha has already caught the attention of directors. Her appearance in Imran’s latest music video could offer audiences a fresh pairing to look forward to. The song’s release will reveal how well the duo connects with viewers.
