Bangladesh’s network engineers, internet service providers and technology professionals will gather in Cox’s Bazar this month for the 22nd conference of the Bangladesh Network Operators Group (BDNOG), with training capacity and network skills set to be key themes.
The three-day technical workshop will run from 11–13 November, followed by the main conference on 14 November at Long Beach Hotel in Cox’s Bazar.
Registration is under way and will close on 8 November, organisers said.
The Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) is co-organising the event, with support from the Business Promotion Council under the Ministry of Commerce.
APNIC Director General Jia Rong Low will attend as the keynote speaker, while ISPAB leaders, BDNOG officials and local and international trainers are also expected to participate.
The event comes as Bangladesh’s internet industry faces growing demand for engineers with stronger network-management skills.
ISPAB Secretary General Nazmul Karmi Bhuiyan said the association currently provides four training programmes a year for its engineers, but more training centres are needed.
“If we had more training centres, ISPAB could arrange training for engineers every month,” he said.
Bhuiyan said Bangladeshi engineers are increasingly taking senior roles at home and abroad, making regular technical training more important.
The conference and workshops will focus on network operations, internet technologies and related technical areas, while giving engineers, operators and technology professionals a platform to exchange experience and build industry connections.
BDNOG regularly organises training and knowledge-sharing programmes aimed at improving technical skills and strengthening cooperation within Bangladesh’s internet community.
Interested participants can register through BDNOG’s registration platform.
