Bengal Foundation will open Threshold: Art & Architecture, an exhibition by architect Rafiq Azam, at Bengal Shilpalay in Dhanmondi on Friday, 6 November 2026.
The opening ceremony will begin at 5pm on Level 3 of the venue. Artist Monirul Islam will inaugurate the exhibition, while architects Prof. Shamsul Wares and Jalal Ahmad will attend as guests. Azam will then share his journey as an architect and artist.
Visual artists Tayeba Begum Lipi and Mahbubur Rahman have curated the exhibition. It features translucent watercolours, exploratory models and tactile material fragments. According to the organisers, the exhibition marks Azam’s move towards painting as a way to explore atmosphere and emotion.
Visitors can see the exhibition daily from 4pm to 8pm until 5 December at the Quamrul Hassan Exhibition Hall, Level 1, House 42, Road 27, Dhanmondi, Dhaka.
Bengal Foundation has previously presented two exhibitions of Azam’s work: Nature Is… in 2008 and Water in Light in 2014. The foundation also published his monograph, Architecture for Green Living, with Skira in 2013.
