The FBI profilers of ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ are preparing for their final case, as Paramount+ will conclude the long-running crime drama with its upcoming 20th season in 2027.
According to Variety, the fifth season of the show’s revival will also mark the end of the franchise’s current run. The original ‘Criminal Minds’ aired on CBS for 15 seasons before returning as ‘Criminal Minds: Evolution’ on Paramount+ in 2022.
Showrunner and executive producer Erica Messer expressed gratitude to the cast, crew and fans who have supported the series over its two-decade run.
She said the team looked forward to sharing the final season and celebrating the show’s legacy.
The series follows the FBI’s Behavioural Analysis Unit (BAU), a team of profilers who study criminal behaviour to identify and capture dangerous offenders before they strike again.
Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler and R.J. Hatanaka are among the stars returning for the final season. Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster will also reprise their roles.
Produced by 20th Television and CBS Studios, the 20th season does not yet have a confirmed premiere date, but is scheduled to arrive on Paramount+ in 2027.
