Actor Sanjay Dutt has promised to bring ‘Kaante 2’ to the big screen in memory of filmmaker Sanjay Gupta, his longtime friend and collaborator who died following an accidental fall at his Mumbai home.

According to Hindustan Times, Dutt shared several throwback photographs with Gupta on Instagram, along with an emotional message recalling their years of friendship.

He said they had recently discussed the sequel and pledged to make the filmmaker’s dream come true.

Dutt described Gupta as family and said he would miss their conversations and time together. He also expressed his grief, saying life would not be the same without his friend.

The two first worked together on ‘Aatish: Feel the Fire’ (1994), Gupta’s directorial debut. They later collaborated on films including ‘Khauff’, ‘Jung’, ‘Kaante’, ‘Musafir’, ‘Zinda’ and ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’.

Actor Suniel Shetty, who also worked with Gupta on ‘Kaante’ and ‘Mumbai Saga’, paid tribute to the filmmaker. He remembered their shared experiences, conversations, disagreements and memories, saying Gupta would be deeply missed.
