Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato have brought back memories of their Disney Channel days with a new Rare Beauty campaign that celebrates their long-standing friendship and revisits some of their most memorable moments together.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the former Disney stars have reunited for ‘Still Making Each Other Blush’, a campaign for Gomez’s beauty brand that draws inspiration from their childhood friendship, early YouTube videos and 2009 Disney Channel film ‘Princess Protection Program’.
The campaign features the pair recreating the film’s promotional poster, wearing updated versions of the blue and yellow gowns worn by their characters, Carter Mason and Princess Rosalinda.
They also revisit the spirit of their 2008 web series ‘The Demi and Selena Show’ in a video shared on Gomez’s YouTube channel.
In the video, the two answer questions, share memories and lip-sync to ‘One and the Same’, their duet from ‘Princess Protection Program’.
The campaign also promotes a limited-edition Delena Soft Pinch Liquid Blush Bundle, named after the fan-created nickname for the duo.
The set features two shades of Rare Beauty’s popular liquid blush: Hope, favoured by Gomez, and Virtue, chosen by Lovato.
It also includes a Soft Pinch Blush Brush and is available through the brand’s website.
Both stars have described the collaboration as a meaningful reunion. Lovato said working with Gomez again felt like returning to the bedrooms where they used to make YouTube videos and experiment with makeup.
Gomez said the campaign offered an opportunity to celebrate their shared history while recognising who they are today.
The pair first met as children while appearing on ‘Barney & Friends’ in 2002. They later became familiar faces on Disney Channel, with Gomez starring in ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ and Lovato appearing in ‘Camp Rock’ and ‘Sonny with a Chance’.
Their friendship has remained a source of nostalgia for fans who grew up watching them, despite periods when they were less publicly connected.
Earlier this year, Gomez attended a concert on Lovato’s ‘It’s Not That Deep’ tour in Orlando, prompting renewed excitement about their reunion.
Gomez launched Rare Beauty in 2020, and its Soft Pinch Liquid Blush has become one of the brand’s signature products.
The new campaign combines the product with the stars’ shared past, offering longtime fans a reminder of their Disney-era friendship.
