Actor and director Mir Sabbir is set to bring a story of family ties and parental relationships to the screen with ‘Khub Chena Golpo’, his first television serial as a director. The series will premiere on the MSM Drama YouTube channel in November.
Written by Shahabuddin Ahmed and developed from Sabbir’s story concept, the serial explores familiar family experiences, parental love and the bonds that hold families together.
Dolly Zahur, Shahed Ali, Deepa Khandakar, Kazi Raju and Tahmina Sultana Mou are among the actors appearing in the production.
Sabbir said the series focuses on relationships that people often take for granted in everyday life. He hopes its portrayal of family values will resonate with viewers.
“‘Khub Chena Golpo’ is a story about our own lives. We rarely stop to think about the familiar stories unfolding around us. The series centres on family values and bonds. We often fail to understand our parents, but when we become parents ourselves, we begin to recognise our own mistakes. I believe these experiences will touch the hearts of viewers,” he said.
Dolly Zahur, who has worked in several of Sabbir’s dramas, praised his approach to directing. She said his sincerity behind the camera was even greater than his commitment as an actor.
Shahed Ali also praised Sabbir’s dedication, describing him as a focused director who handles demanding tasks with ease during shooting. He said Sabbir’s commitment as a director stood out even compared with his work as an actor.
Deepa Khandakar, who considers Sabbir a friend and has worked under his direction before, said he maintains high standards and does not compromise during production. She added that his dramas often earn audience appreciation because he consistently tries to tell stories drawn from everyday life.
Mou said working with Sabbir was a comfortable experience because he made it easy for actors to understand and develop their characters. She expressed optimism about the new serial, saying his guidance allows performers to focus on their acting without becoming overly concerned about how to shape their roles.
With its focus on familiar family experiences, ‘Khub Chena Golpo’ is expected to offer audiences a relatable look at relationships between parents and children.
