National Citizen Party (NCP) Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwary has described the issue of State Minister for Liberation War Affairs Ishraque Hossain’s resignation as an attempt to cover up the home minister’s failure.
He said, “The problem lies with the home minister. Why did Ishraque bhai get shot? In other words, the home minister commits the wrongdoing, while someone else pays the price for it. This is actually the home minister’s failure. In the process, Ishraque bhai has fallen into a trap.”
Patwary made the remarks while speaking to journalists after exchanging greetings on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja at Dhakeshwari National Temple in the capital on Monday morning.
At the briefing, he called on the government to ensure the security of the Hindu community during the Durga Puja celebrations. He alleged that amid the deterioration of the law and order situation, people were being killed and subjected to persecution in different parts of the country.
He also said, “No one should behave in a way that causes pain to members of the Hindu community. We must ensure that they do not feel sorrow or hurt anywhere.”
