Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan are set to team up again for a comedy set in the 1970s, with the actor reportedly playing an eccentric tiger hunter.
According to Hindustan Times, the yet-untitled film will mark Priyadarshan’s 99th directorial venture. Producer Ramesh Taurani is backing the project, which is expected to begin filming in the last week of November.
According to reports, the team plans a three-month shooting schedule across wildlife locations in Rajasthan and a set in Mumbai. The makers are also scouting locations in Bhopal.
Actors Annu Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav have reportedly joined the ensemble cast, while the filmmakers are still searching for the female lead. Priyadarshan has co-written the film with Rohan Shankar, with whom he previously worked on ‘Bhooth Bangla’.
Priyadarshan has not confirmed the project yet. When approached for comment, he said he would speak once the film was finalised.
The reunion follows the duo’s recent collaboration on ‘Haiwaan’. Priyadarshan has indicated that he intends to focus on Hindi comedies with Kumar after the film received a lukewarm response.
