Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all flights on its Dhaka-Dammam and Dhaka-Riyadh routes until 18 October following ongoing attacks on airports in Saudi Arabia, citing passenger safety concerns.
The suspension will remain in effect until 18 October, according to Bangladesh local time, while the national flag carrier will announce further decisions and updated flight schedules in due course.
Passengers requiring urgent travel to Saudi Arabia or seeking to return to Bangladesh can use Jeddah and Madinah international airports as alternative routes.
Considering passenger demand, Boeing 777 aircraft have been deployed on the Madinah route in place of Boeing 787 aircraft. This change has increased capacity by 148 seats per flight.
Concurrently, arrangements have been made to operate three additional flights on the Jeddah route.
Passengers are requested to contact their nearest Biman Bangladesh Airlines sales centre for necessary information regarding ticketing and travel.
