Bangladesh received $9.88 billion in workers’ remittances between July 1 and October 12 in the 2026-27 fiscal year, marking a 12.7% increase from $8.77 billion received during the corresponding period a year earlier.
According to the latest data, remittance inflows reached $1.29 billion during October 1–12, compared with $1.18 billion in the same period last year, representing a year-on-year increase of 9.2%.
On October 12 alone, expatriate Bangladeshis sent home $124 million in remittances.
The continued growth in remittance inflows is expected to support the country’s foreign exchange reserves and strengthen the external sector.
