Bangladesh has strongly condemned the deadly Houthi attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that killed at least 12 people, including two Bangladeshi nationals, and injured hundreds of others.
In a statement on Sunday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Bangladesh “strongly and unequivocally” denounces the attack.
The ministry said the Bangladesh mission in Riyadh is in contact with Saudi authorities to obtain details about the deceased and injured Bangladeshis and to provide necessary assistance to those affected.
Bangladesh expressed its deepest condolences to the families of the victims, including the families of the two Bangladeshis killed in the attack, and wished a speedy recovery to those injured.
The statement said attacks targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable and must cease immediately.
Bangladesh also reaffirmed its solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in the wake of the attack.
Calling for an immediate end to hostilities, Bangladesh urged all parties to ensure the protection of civilians and civilian infrastructure and to pursue a peaceful resolution to the crisis through dialogue and diplomacy in the interest of regional peace, security and stability.
