Gias Uddin has been appointed as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on a contractual basis. He will hold the status of Secretary in this role.
A notification to this effect was issued on Thursday by the Contract and Foreign Employment Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration.
Signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Al Bashirul Islam, the notification specifies that the appointment is conditional upon Gias Uddin severing all working ties with any other profession, business, or government, semi-government, or private institution or organisation.
His appointment will take effect from the date of joining and will remain valid for the tenure of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman or subject to his satisfaction, whichever is earlier.
According to the notification, other terms and conditions of his appointment will be determined by a deed of contract.
